Description of the Activity – A double kayak trip is a down river experience in a double kayak with the customer in the front of the double kayak and the guide in back guiding and directing the boat. The double kayak is very stable, safe, and allows everyone to enjoy the thrill of class 3 whitewater kayaking in a real kayak, without ever having any previous experience. Because the guide is in the boat with the customer, the customer can feel safe and secure knowing that the guide is capable of flipping the boat back over if it rolls upside down. All customers are provided with top of the line kayak equipment and supervised by certified guides.
Description of the Trip – Enjoy the thrill of kayaking the Liucura river with the safety of a guide in the boat with you.
You will begin your trip at the Kayak Chile Shop, where you’re fitted in all of the safest top level kayaking equipment. The Kayak Chile van then brings you to the Liucura river, with its incredible views, and crystal clear water. Customers receive instruction on how their equipment works, how to maneuver and paddle the boat, and what to do if the double kayak rolls over.
In the Liucura, after a little instruction and practice in the slow section of the river there are a few class 2-3 rapids that will help you warm up and get your adrenaline pumping. All of our customers can paddle with confidence knowing that the guide is behind them, ultimately in control of the kayak, and providing words of encouragement along the way with instructions on where to go. Eventually you will reach the intersection of the Liucura and the powerful Trancura river which help to create the class 3-4 rapids, the Junta and the Liona. In the double kayak you are seated in the front experiencing every wave and rapid up close and personal. Finally after the excitement of the fast white water from the Junta and the Liona rapids, you will reach one last class 2-3 rapid before finishing the trip.
While winding down in the final slow section of the river one can enjoy the beauty of Northern Patagonia before the opportunity to change and then head back to the town of Pucon, in the Kayak Chile Van. Also, if you didn’t have the pleasure of flipping the double kayak over during your run, your guide, if requested, will demonstrate a roll with you in the boat just before exiting the water.
Cost – $45.000 per person.
